Start the week right

Today is Monday and what a day it was! I wanted to do both a high intensity and low intensity workout. One is for muscles, the other is to burn fats and get a good aerobic workout, so I combine them.
This morning I started off with a bowl of oatmeal. No sugar, no fruit, just good ole oatmeal. Then it was work time…
I have a set routing that I will share with you, but it’s not for the faint of heart.

I start off with 100 pushup jacks. Then I ran 4 laps of .16 miles and in between each did 25 kettle bell slings.
So at the end of that session, I’ve run about 6/10 of a mile and done 100 kettle bell slings .
Then it’s onto 50 pull-ups, 100 bent over rows, then I run another .16.
After that I have a can of tuna right out of the can. No mayo, just a fork and a can of tuna.
Now it’s time to stretch…I started with 100 bent over laterals with an exercise band, then onto 50 burpees (squat thrusts for most people) then ran another .16.
After this it’s back to 100 squat jacks (a jumping jack in a squat position).
(You tired yet?)
Next up was front raises for my deltoids from lying position with a band. 50 reps of those followed by, you guessed it…another .16 miles.
I thought that was enough for today so then it was lunch time. Grilled chicken and rice was the lunch of choice today.
I had to get all this done early enough to start doing work. I have a college football game to announce next week so I’m spending a ton of time preparing for it, watching film, studying, etc.
Just because you have work to do doesn’t mean the fitness plan takes a break.
What are some of the things that you guys do to keep in shape? I’d be curious to hear. If someone has something interesting maybe I’ll try it…
The rest of the week should look like this for me…
Tuesday is a legs day. It is going to be a combo of boot camp style workout and aerobic.
Wednesday is a rest day, so it’ll just involve a medium distance run.
Thursday and Friday I haven’t though about yet, but one of the two will be a hard day for sure.
Okay, I need to go bury myself in college football notes for the rest of the day…

Any exercise is better than no exercise. If you have the opportunity to walk during the day between classes, or even at night. During the day do some of the stretches I have in my workouts. Many of them are simply and can be done at home, in an office, at school, anywhere. And eating is key. Pack a healthy lunch and breakfast for starters.
